Watch whales from the comfort of the Inn…or take a whale watching charter onto the open seas to view these amazing creatures up close. Take a ride on one of the larger boats with Tradewinds or Dockside Charters. Or hop in the Zodiac with local whale researcher, Carrie Newell to learn all about our local whale population. Carrie is one of the foremost authorities on Gray whales on the Oregon Coast, has been featured on PBS and has over 20 years of teaching and research experience. And make sure to stop in at the Whale Watching Center for information and assistance in spotting the whales and other wildlife.
The sun doesn’t have to be shining to enjoy the Oregon Coast. Join us in the off season to witness the power of nature at work…huge waves and winds carving out the volcanic basalt of our rocky shoreline. See the Spouting Horn blowholes along the seawall where waves that run beneath the lava bed force air and spray up to 60 feet in the air!
Sail on a charter boat for deep-sea fishing action! Sign up with Tradewinds or Dockside Charters for larger groups. You can also rock, surf and river fish, or go clamming and crabbing in season (ask about using our crab cooker).
